Where faith, family, and gentle care come together to nurture your child's health journey.
"We believe it's meant to be, and we trust that we're being carried through this process."
Our practice was born from a desire to create a medical home where children receive exceptional care in a warm, faith-centered environment. We believe in treating each child as if they were our own, with compassion, expertise, and dedication.
Dear Families,
Welcome to Footprints Pediatrics!
We are so happy to be together again, we've truly missed you and your families! Beginning again on our own was unexpected, but we believe it's meant to be, and we trust that we're being carried through this process.
Please bear with us as we navigate this new path. Because we had to wait for the approval of our new professional corporation (Footprints Pediatric Medicine, PC) from the New York State Education Department, we are still in the process of being credentialed by all the insurance companies. As a result, some of your carriers may initially recognize us as out-of-network or self-pay. We've been assured that this will be corrected retroactively to the date we applied for credentialing.
There is also a delay in setting up our lab interfaces. If blood work is needed in June, I'll provide you with a script to have it done at Quest or Northwell. We expect to begin offering in-office lab services after July 4th.
Being a solo provider comes with some new challenges. While I'm excited to offer comprehensive care seven days a week, I'll also need time to rest and recharge to give my best to you and your children.
My planned office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a lunch break from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. During this time, we will turn off the phones and will not be available for patient visits. However, rest assured—we will promptly respond to any messages left during the lunch break and will always do our best to accommodate you and your children.
For the summer, I will see sick patients on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. On Sundays, I will be available in the morning for true emergencies.
As many of you know, I'm always available via my cell phone, text is preferred. I kindly ask that after 9:00 PM and on weekends, the phone be used only for urgent or emergency matters.
In the fall, I anticipate adding evening hours and scheduling well visits on Saturdays. I truly appreciate your patience and support this summer as we get everything fully up and running.
We've worked hard to open this office and are committed to being there for you and your family—through joyful milestones and difficult times. Whatever you need, we will always do our best to help.
All of us at Footprints Pediatrics are guided by the values of our families, cultures, and faiths. Our goal is to serve you and one another in a way that honors them all.
Warmly,
Dr. Elizabeth Darcy, MD
Board Certified Pediatrician

Every person at Footprints Pediatrics is here to serve with care, patience, and faith.
"Our practice is small by design — every face here is dedicated to your child's care."
Dr. Elizabeth Darcy brings over 23 years of pediatric experience to Footprints Pediatrics. After completing her undergraduate degree at NYU and her medical education at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, she dedicated her career to creating a medical practice that feels like home.
Dr. Darcy believes in treating the whole child—body, mind, and spirit. Her approach combines evidence-based medicine with the warmth and personal attention that every child deserves. As a mother, she understands firsthand the joys and concerns of parenthood.
"My goal is to partner with families in nurturing healthy, happy children. I believe that listening is often the most important part of medicine."

"We believe in creating a nurturing environment where both our patients and our team can thrive. Every member of our staff brings unique gifts to your child's care experience."
"I loved my pediatrician. Her name was Sophia Chang. An immigrant herself, she was so kind and helpful to my Irish immigrant parents. (Although I can imagine everybody's accents were a little confusing at first.) My family depended on her for over 25 years. I always knew she genuinely cared about me."
"From an early age, I said I was going be a doctor. I earned my undergraduate degree at NYU, then returned to Ireland for my medical education. At that time, the focus was less on testing and even less on litigation. It was completely centered on talking to the patient, examining them and really trying to understand what they needed as well as effectively communicating next steps. I've tried to bring that same focus to my practice since I qualified in 2000."
"As a Brooklynite, I had never spent much time in Staten Island. But I did my pediatric residency at the former St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Center. After completing residency, I worked in private practice in Brooklyn and Staten Island - including with Dr. Gabriel for 19 years. I learned a lot and grew to love our patients and their families."
"Now that we are open on our own, it's my desire to re-create that same sense that I and my parents experienced: a pediatrician who is competent, caring, and always available. We welcome you to our new home away from home."
We'll get back to you as soon as possible. For emergencies, please text Dr. Darcy directly.
Please note: We are closed on Sundays. If this is a medical emergency, please call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room immediately.
